What is Sin?
Traditionally we have defined sin as bad looking behavior , but we need to understand that bad behavior is not the correct definition of sin.
The true definition of sin is not bad behavior , but It’s to miss the mark , it’s to not share in something, it’s to err or to be mistaken, it also means to wander from the path of uprightness , to wander from the law of God.
You could say sin is really about man being deceived in thinking that their was a way unto life but that way only led to death and not life
You could say that sin takes you to a dead end road every time .
Sin has more to do with missing the mark or not sharing in the life that God always desired for us to partake in which is the God king of life or immortality of Life which is ultimately a Life that in Immortal that can never perish .
again we miss the mark of Life because we greatly error as to the way of Life .
so we need to redefine what sin is into into its proper definition ..
Sin is simply is to not partake or share in the very Life of God the kind of Life that God has always desired to give us
Thats why the scripture says that the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord
Adam believed a lie thinking that He was able to cultivate his own Life apart from God by the strength of his own ability..
the very best kind of life that man is able to cultivate by the strength of his own hands is a life called the good life , but the good life is not the Zoe kind of life because even the good life is a perishing kind of life .
No created thing is able to give man immortality of life .
I always said that the theme song from hell is I did it my way!
again the problem with the good life cultivated by man is that it’s like the fading flower , it’s a perishable life , it’s temporal , it is not eternal .
But God has a Life that is Non perishable and will never fade called Eternal life and this Life can only be found In Jesus Christ .
Remember Jesus said that He was the way unto Life ?
To sin is really to not believe in Christ for your Life .
The scripture says that He that has the Son has the Life and He that dosn't have the Son dosn't have the Life
If sin is simply to not hit the mark for life then we are able to say that in Jesus Christ we actually hit the mark for Life
Hitting the Mark isn't about getting our behavior all right . Gods mark was not that we would always behave right but that we would bear the fruit of the fulness of His life …
You see carnal religion has made sin all about behavior but God says sin is not being filled with His Glorious Life .
Hence all have sinned and fallen short of the glorious Life of God .
God created us for Life , to be His image bearers . Sons of Life but apart from God there is no Life
Now we look at sin as breaking the law of God and what was the core of Gods Law ? First is that you will have no other gods before you and why ? because there is only One God who is able to gives us immortality of Life . No other gods that we look to is able to give us the life that Our God can.
In Acts 17
The Apostle Paul nails it when he tells those who were worshipping other Gods that there was only One God who was able to give us Life for we are His offspring and in Hm We Live and Move and Have our Being .
The testimony of Jesus demonstrates to us all where true love and the life are truly found and that’s in Abba Father
